We all have days that we either are glad when they are over or wish we can have a re-do. We must remember that for us that have a hard or bad day, there is someone else out there that is having a worst day.
The first step you are told is to take your problems to the Lord in prayer. However, it appears that God is not answering your prayers. Proverbs 3:5–6
What we are looking for in our prayers is “God’s Mercies”. But what is mercy? It is defined as compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm. We know that God’s mercy is promised in the scriptures and just like the morning starts a new day, God’s mercies are renewed each morning as well.
We can also take for granted that God’s compassion will never end as well. The Lord’s mercy is based on Him and is renewed each day is a gift from our Savior. We need to let Him control His plan for us.
WE ARE GRANTED REDEMPTION
No matter what you are dealing with today, you need to put your trust in God. Yes, we all complain about something, but it seems that someone else is complaining about something way worse and on and on… The sad fact is that it is easier to complain about everything that is wrong. This is the dark side.
The light side of this is to praise and worship our God and letting Him take control of our situations. The one thing you can truly believe today, tomorrow, anytime, is that no matter how bad your situation is, God offers redemption and He is working on our situation.
Have faith in God, praise and worship Him, and He will keep you from going to hell. He will make us satisfied so long as we have faith and trust in Him. Jeremiah 29:11
LOCKED IN THE PAST
They say your past will always catch up with you. Once an alcoholic always an alcoholic. Once an addict, always an addict. Once a criminal, always a criminal.
So just because you are a homeless person lying on a cold sidewalk who hasn’t had a shower in a week and look like something from a horror flick doesn’t mean you will always be that way. You are in a bad situation but that can change. These are all dark times.
However, we all know that we are born sinners. But wait, accept the Lord as your Savior and He will unlock your past. Revelation 21:5
Those times of our past used to be labels that followed us down the lanes of life, and we were stuck with them. These could be labelling that Satan could use against us to try and destroy us. But God sent His only son to live on earth, to be crucified and die on the cross, buried but rose again and now sits at the right hand of the Father so that we may have hope especially on days when we need it.
Jesus love us and that doesn’t change. No matter how bad we mess up, His compassion, grace and Hope will always be there. It doesn’t go away or disappears or leave you in the dark. The price you pay for all of this is your praise and worship and allowing God to be your guide, leader and controller. Isaiah 41:10
We have all heard the sayings, “there is no I in team”, or “The problem is bigger than you”. What this mean is that you don’t have to do them alone. Jeremiah 32:17
Sometimes the problem is much too for any number of humans to handle or maybe they don’t have what is needed to solve the problem. We are reminded daily that when the problem is too big, we need to go to the Lord.
No matter the geography, He is there, and the problem can be solved rather quickly even if we been fighting for years to solve the problem. Because of his powers, He can turn that darkness into light. Hebrews 10:23
Nobody is perfect. That job has been taken. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
The dark side is that you are homeless, down on your luck. Maybe because you ran out of money or lost your job or maybe through no fault of your own. Anyway, you are in a deep hole and you need to get out of it.
The light side is that sometimes you need go through the tough season to see the fruits of your labor. I love to tell you that God doesn’t give you more than you can handle but that is not exactly true. He does say that he will be with us till the end of time.
As we struggle the battles, it should be teaching us that we need God and we need to lean on him not just through our troubles. The quicker this happens, we will find great joy and you will feel the tension leave your body. We are taught by the apostle Paul in the second book of Corinthians: 2 Corinthians 12:9–11
And then the author of the book of John tells us: John 3:30
This is the life lesson we must learn to become wholly dependent on the Lord for everything. I will be weak when in the dark but strong when in the light. The more I rely on the Lord, the less I rely on me. Psalm 36:5
