How many of you question whether you are Christians?
Let’s be honest here, there are times when I questioned why I was a Christian and there have been times when I questioned what it means to be a Christian. I have always believed there was a God.To Listen to the full sermon, Click HERE
Today we are going to answer the question, “Why Should I be A Christian?”
There are many reasons that come from the heavens and our true Father who believes all responsible persons should be Christians.
There are a lot of people who are not Christians because they have never been given enough reasons to convince them to be Christians.
We feel that we are not good enough to be a Christian;
We don’t feel in God; Afraid to accept Christ as your savior; Uncertain about what will happen;
Romans 3:23 says that all have fallen short of the glory of God. So, the first fact today is whether we are Christians or not, we are all sinners.
Because we are sinners, some feel we are not fit to meet our Father. However, the two things in life that are guaranteed are taxes and death. So, you have two choices here, meet your Eternal Father or burn in hell. Matthew 25:46
We cannot go to heaven in our sins. Revelation 21:27
So, we have come for the first question of the lesson. You all did study for the test right. What side of the death scale is your name listed? You must earn the right to go to heaven.
God created the world, so he knows that we are lost, would need a savior and because of that sacrificed his only son for that purpose. Nobody else in their right mind would do that but God did. John 3:16
The only thing that will save us from sins is that Jesus was crucified, nailed to a cross, died on the cross, buried in a tomb, and rose again to sit at the right hand of the Father. 1 John 1:7
Here is the second question of this exam: Which side of the transaction are you on, the no sale or the purchased side? If you are on the No Sale, then you don’t have to worry about meeting the Father as you will be going to the fiery deaths of Hell.
There are many people that will go to Hell who was on the wrong bus or train route. There are many, I mean many people that have not accepted Jesus as their savior. I don’t need any statistics to prove that I just need the bible – it tells me that. It tells me to go make disciples in the name of the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. Why would it tell us Christians to do this if we were all saved? Matthew 28:18–20
God doesn’t put a schedule on when you get saved. He doesn’t schedule next week, next month or next year but one guarantee you can take to the bank is that he will save you now. 2 Corinthians 6:2
It is quoted in the scriptures in the book of Matthew that Jesus offered us an invitation: Matthew 11:28-30
How fitting is it when the last chapter of the bible has this one last strong appeal: Revelation 22:17
There are no certainties in life. Yes, we know the IRS will always get their taxes even after we are no longer here and yes, we know someday we are going to die but still there are still uncertainties with these as well.
We honestly do not know when we will die. I always say that when my number is drawn, I am off to meet my Father. There is a poem that comes to mind by Adrian Waldorf called Tomorrow is Not Promised. It talks about life’s experiences and all about today, but the last two lines is the climax:
Tomorrow is not promised; We only have today;
The book of 1 Samuel tells us about David who was being persecuted by Saul gave us expression from the dark, deepest part of his soul: 1 Samuel 20:3 This is collaborated in the New Testament from the book of James. James 4:14
We learn from a parable in the book of Luke about a farmer who was to wrap up in the affairs of his own life: Luke 12:16–21
Judgement awaits all of us – do not fool yourselves – we are all going to be judged by our Father. Those that have rejected our Father will be judged harshly. Hebrews 9:27
So, the question begs to be answered, what happens to those of us that don’t obey the commandments outlined in the only authority life manual. Thessalonians 1:7-9
The bible tells us that we must fear our God. Proverbs 1:7
Fear is a big emotion defined as is a feeling induced by perceived danger or threat that occurs in certain types of organisms, which causes a change in metabolic and organ functions and ultimately a change in behavior, such as fleeing, hiding, or freezing from perceived traumatic events. … An irrational fear is called a phobia.
Now that we know we are to fear our God it makes it even harder to contemplate meeting our Father. Think about meeting a stranger for the first time and the emotions. Now think about meeting for the first time that is going to pass judgement on your life.
We are all good enough to be a Christian. Look at 2 Corinthians 12:9
If you are not a Christian, let me tell you that you will feel a whole new you after you have example just a sample of the reasons to be a Christians listed here. All that awaits you is to accept to obey the gospel of Jesus Christ by faith, repentance, confession, and baptism. So, what are you waiting for?
Please feel free to like, comment or share. We always enjoy the input whether good or bad.
