Jesus Heals The Parlytic

Jesus did many miracles in the region of Galilee. Even though Jesus told the people not to tell anyone, they talked so much that He could no longer go to a town but had to minister out in lonely places.  One day he come home to Capernaum and that is where our story begins today.

Today’s message come from Mark 2:1-12

Jesus returned home to Capernaum. As Jesus preached, the people crowded in the room to the point there was no space for anyone else. (Mark 2:1-2)

Now while Jesus was preaching, there were four men who had carried a paralyzed man to see Jesus. However, because of the crowds they could not get in.  They went to the roof top and made an opening.  They lowered the mat that the paralyzed man was laying on. (Mark 2:3-4)

Jesus saw the faith of the four men that brought the paralyzed man to him. He told the paralyzed man that all his sins were forgiven. (Mark 2:5)

The Pharisees were questioning Jesus’s authority because nobody could forgive sins other than God. Jesus aware of their thoughts and asked why are you thinking these thoughts?  He continued with the question of which is easier to say, your sins are forgiven or get up, take your mat and walk. (Mark 2:6-9)

Jesus then told the Pharisees that the Son of God here on earth has the authority to forgive sins. He looked at the paralyzed man and told him to get up, take his mat and walk out in full view.  This amazed everyone present that witnessed this. (Mark 2:10-12)
